JoAnn Ritchie
Public Relations & Army Veteran
JoAnn Ritchie is a communications strategist, veteran advocate, and community connector with a passion for serving those who served. As a U.S. Army veteran who served 22 years as a public relations leader, she brings extensive experience in community engagement, media relations, and strategic communications. She currently serves as the Director of Communications and Community Relations for Ritchie Remodel LLC, where she supports the company’s community engagement, brand visibility, and client relationships.
Throughout her career, JoAnn has held senior leadership roles shaping communications at the state and military levels. She served as the Strategic Communications Manager for the Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs, where she led integrated communication strategies to support veterans and their families.
She also served as Chief of Public Affairs and Senior Communications Advisor for the Washington Army National Guard, advising senior leadership and directing public affairs initiatives that strengthened community engagement, media relations, and public trust.
Driven by a belief in the power of social connection, JoAnn takes pride in cultivating lasting partnerships and developing initiatives that activate communities and champion veterans and their families. She is known as an energetic, forward-thinking leader who enjoys sparking conversations that inspire new ideas, challenge perspectives, and drive positive change.
JoAnn remains deeply involved in the veteran and nonprofit communities. She served on the Board of Directors for the Redefining You Foundation and is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). She also volunteers with various organizations and mentors service members transitioning from military service to civilian life. She holds a Master of Communication Management with a concentration in Strategic Organizational Communication from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Marketing from the University of Arizona. Through her work, JoAnn continues to advocate for stronger support networks, meaningful opportunities, and lasting community connections for veterans and their families.
